This web site hopes to be a guide to middle Tennesseeans who would like to study geology close to home, using resources found locally.  It will provide:

• Background material to help explain what we find in middle Tennessee and why we find it.

• Field Trips which can be used as virtual field trips or as guides to real ones.

• Exercises, correlated with state science curriculum frameworks, which can be used in class or at home

• A field guide to help identify the fossils you find in the area
